– $182 million to supply 25000 Homes across NSW

The Federal Government has announced a large injection to the housing market to create a greater supply and infrastructure to support the increase.

This has been labelled the ‘biggest home building program in Australian history’

$182 million is being allocated to supply 25k homes across NSW. This is across 9 projects making up the Housing Support program. 

This plan includes:

• $10.1 mil to unlock over 14.7k homes in Parramatta and activate pedestrian connection from Parramatta Square to the Parramatta River. Also included is additional green space and public transport connections via rail. Light rail and the future Sydney Metro West
• $13 mil to construct a new road and intersection and bridge in Scholfield which will enable 235 homes
• $45mil for sewer infrastructure in Kempsey to unlock more than 430 homes
• $27.2mil for Wastewater treatment in The Goulburn shire to unlock more than 400 new homes
• $10mil in Civil infrastructure works around Griffith enabling 500 homes
• $45 mil for a sewer system in the Stuarts Point area reaching 40 homes
• $22.1 mil for road and utility upgrades in the Cessnock area to enable 900 new homes
• $6.2 mil to construct a transport tunnel to support 7.8k new homes in Sydney’s inner west

Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government Catherine King said this latest initiative is key for boosting home ownership.

“From Parramatta to Eurobodalla, Dulwich Hill to Kempsey, we’re turbocharging housing supply by delivering the infrastructure Australia needs. We can’t all rely on the bank of Mum and Dad, which is why the Albanese Labor Government is making it easier for people to build or buy their own home,” said King.
